Call the Statehouse - Sunday April 6 and Monday April 7 - Energy Generation in Ohio
From Save Ohio Parks:
Methane leaks cause 30% of climate warming & are worse than we thought. Ohio, PA and WVA are top emitters. https://bit.ly/41VZRnw
Ohio should capitalize on our state's relative "livability' instead of increasing climate chaos, says Jess Grim of @ThirdActOrg Ohio at a recent Save Ohio Parks press conference. In these times of increasing climate chaos, we have, instead: a governor, a state legislature, and a Commission - the OGLMC - seemingly dead set on further polluting our air, poisoning our water and trashing our public lands and parks by giving enthusiastic and unconsidered go-aheads to virtually every fracking bid that comes their way.
The Oil & Gas Land Management Commission is willfully subverting the wishes of the people. This commission is sacrificing our beautiful parks, clean water, and future good health so that fossil fuel billionaires and their companies can get even richer. We need a moratorium on fracking in Ohio now.
We call on all Ohio lawmakers to reduce gas & oil emissions with a fracking moratorium. it's criminal that Ohio politicians - knowing we face climate catastrophe - continue to permit new fossil fuel extraction. We have the renewable energy and tools to help mitigate the worst effects of climate change.
Faith communities must use moral authority to name the sin of ecological destruction & mobilize to advocate for good energy policy, said Judy Comeau Hart of Faith Communities Together for a Sustainable Future at our gathering before the Oil & Gas Land Management Commission. The Ohio legislature betrays all Ohioans- especially, our children-by allowing the oil and gas industry to frack our most precious public lands, said Comeau Hart.
Renewable energy has no air emissions, no water pollution, no health issues. Sign our petition for a moratorium on fracking today: bit.ly/MoratoriumNow
