Cleveland International Film Festival - Community Partner
The Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) is one of the largest film festivals in the United States, showcasing films that educate, entertain, and help to build a broad and inclusive community. This year, FaCT will serve as Community Partner for two screenings of Out of Plain Sight on Sunday March 30 at 7:40 and on Monday, March 31 at 5:10. The Festival will be held again this year at the beautiful and historic Playhouse Square.
Out of Plain Sight documents the devastating effects of toxic waste that was dumped into the ocean off the coast of California 80 years ago. Journalist Rosanna Xia and researcher David Valentine piece together the events that have created an outbreak of disease and cancers in sea mammals and possibly in us. The devastating consequences of throwing our waste into the ocean continue to haunt the world today.
