Midtown neighborhood, serves members from five counties. They have a vibrant environmental ministry that includes recycling, composting, advocacy, and climate change education. Several members have been active participants in FaCT for a number of years.

The Anchor Group is a Task Force of WSUUC and is part of the West Shore Justice & Outreach Council. First UU of Marietta has been confronting the problem of numerous frack waste injection wells in communities throughout Washington County. FSUUM folks have been instrumental in pioneering our frack waste/injection well education program, bringing information about this issue to college student
audiences through FaCT's campus intern program.

The Catholic Community of Athens has participated in ecumenical efforts and partnerships with churches and community organizations which share their vision for a sustainable future. A Laudato Si circle meets monthly to pray, plan, and implement actions consistent with the encyclical's content, and to gain inspiration from the work of others in our country and around the world.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church in East Palestine is our newest Anchor candidate faith community. The train derailment and explosion in 2023 prompted FaCT to reach out to the E. Palestine community to offer aid and assistance. Emmanuel United Methodist became our contact faith community. FaCT raised more than $4,000 to help purchase air purifiers for town residents. We look forward to adding them as a FaCT Anchor in the near future.
