Class II Injection Wells in Ohio
Class II Injection Wells in Ohio. Ohio now has 232 Class II Injection Wells in Ohio that are receiving frack waste from around the state and from beyond the state. The frack waste is injected under high pressure into rock formations. This fluid is not always "gone for good," but can migrate underground and infiltrate oil/gas production wells and potentially water wells. Several Class II injection wells were shut down in Athens county after the fluid injected in them was found to have migrated to production wells in the area.
